Third monitoring visit to the Po Plain

On 14 and 15 November 2023, Sara Luchetti from the European Commission monitoring team, met with the LIFE FALKON team for the last assessment of the project progresses, before its closure at the end of the year.

The theatre of the visit was the ISPRA headquarters in Ozzano dell’Emilia (BO). Here, the LIFE FALKON team presented to the Monitor the results achieved in these years, the problems faced and the solutions undertaken to encourage the presence of the Lesser Kestrel in Italy and Greece.

Afterwards, the team and Monitor moved to the Po Plain to visit the nesting towers and some of the 200 nest boxes installed by the team in this area.

Two days dedicated to the Lesser Kestrel and shared conservation goals, which encourage the team to face the AfterLIFE challenge with renewed motivation.
