New Lesser Kestrel colonies discovered in the Po Plain

During the initial step of the wide survey in the Po-Plain, the LIFE FALKON team – supported by enthusiastic volunteer – checked over 250 rural buildings scattered in the area and found at least 6 new colonies of Lesser Kestrel!  In all the cases these are small colonies of 2-5 pairs and all are hosted in damaged buildings at serious risk of demolition. These findings suggest that the local population of Lesser Kestrel is underestimated but still of reduced size and in need of protection, as we will give with LIFE FALKON
