The LIFE FALKON is pleased to announce the participation at the The Nature Of Cities Festival, an international virtual festival that spans 3 days with programming gathering a huge variety of high level stakeholders around the international debate of the future of sustainable cities.
Specifically, the LIFE FALKON organized two interesting workshops on the 30th and 31st of March 2022:
“WINGED CITIES 1: Birds and the challenges of urban life”

Humans and birds have always lived together. However, if some species are wonderfully adapted to urban life, this also exposes them to pollution and other problems. Starting from the lesser kestrel case, this workshop will shed light on the challenges of urban life that birds are exposed to together with a set of world-recognized experts on the topic.
“WINGED CITIES 2: Practical issues for bird-friendly cities”
31st March 2022 | 11.30-12.30 CET

During this session, we will discuss with NGOs and experts strategies and practical solutions for creating bird-friendly cities, starting from the LIFE FALKON action to improve lesser kestrels conservation.
Relevant speakers will contribute to the discussion together with the project partners CNR-IRSA Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche – Istituto di Ricerca sulle Acque and HOS/BirdLife – Hellenic Ornithological Society As an examples: Juan Josè Negro from CSIC-EBD, Davide Dominoni from University of Glasgow, Dan Chamberlain from Turin University, Michelangelo Morganti from CNR-IRSA and Nikos Tsiopelas, Roula Trigou and Martin Gaetlich from Hellenic Ornithological Society.
Both sessions will all be translated in 18 languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Tamil. Participants can choose which language they want to read and can also choose a spoken voice to listen to the translation.

Once you register, you will see the whole Festival program and you will be asked to sign up for both workshops following these steps:
- First set your time zone on the right side of the page (eg. Europe\Rome)
- Find LIFE FALKON sessions using the key word “WINGED CITIES” in the search box on the right side of the page
- Click on the sessions and add them in your schedule

What is The Nature of Cities Festival?
The two above-mentioned workshops are organized and broadcasted within the The Nature Of Cities Festival from the 29th to the 31st of March 2022!
The Nature of Cities Festival is a virtual festival that pushes boundaries to radically imagine our cities for the future. It spans 3 days with programming across five regional time zones and provided in multiple languages. The festival focuses on facilitating transdisciplinary dialogue, small group workshops, arts engagement, and fostering a collaborative spirit around solutions for our sustainable and environmentally-friendly urban futures.
